Privacy Policy

Contact and professional information. When you submit a dataset request via the form on this site, we collect your name, work email address, organisation name, job title (if provided), and company website (if provided).

Request details. We collect information you provide about your data needs: modalities, volume, labeling schema, use case description, timeline, budget band, and any other details you include in free-text fields.

Technical data. Our servers automatically log your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the date and time of each request. This data is used for security, rate-limiting, and aggregate analytics. We do not use third-party analytics scripts on this site.

Communications. If you email us at hello@birha.in, we retain the content of those messages to respond and maintain records of our correspondence.

We use the information we collect to:

• Review and respond to dataset requests and enquiries.
• Send you a proposal, quote, or follow-up related to your request.
• Deliver datasets, annotations, or other contracted deliverables.
• Operate, maintain, and improve our services and internal processes.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for any advertising or profiling purposes unrelated to fulfilling your request.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing personal data are:

• Legitimate interests — responding to business enquiries and preventing fraud.
• Contract performance — where processing is necessary to deliver services you have requested or agreed to.
• Compliance with a legal obligation — where required by applicable law.
• Consent — where you have explicitly opted-in to a specific processing activity.

We share data with a limited number of third-party service providers ("subprocessors") that help us operate our infrastructure and deliver services:

• Hosting and compute. Our application is hosted on Vercel. Database infrastructure is hosted on a cloud provider in a jurisdiction we can confirm on request.
• Email delivery. Transactional notifications (e.g. request confirmation emails) are sent via Resend.
• Annotation tooling. For contracted annotation work, task data may be loaded into Label Studio, operated by our team. Label Studio does not receive your personal contact details.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except where required by law or to protect Birha's legal rights.

We retain dataset request records for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, fulfil any resulting contract, and comply with applicable legal and tax obligations — typically no longer than 5 years after the last interaction. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted or anonymised.

This site does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. We may set a minimal session cookie for security and rate-limiting purposes. This cookie contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@birha.in with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Birha is operated from India. If you are accessing our services from outside India, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India or other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure adequate safeguards are in place for such transfers in accordance with applicable law.

Our B2B services are not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email.
